Galway Races

The Galway Races are moslty famous for the summer festival held by Ballybrit Racecourse  in Galway every year. It starts on the last Monday of July and lasts seven days, and it is the longest of all the race meets that occur in Ireland. The busiest days of the festival are Wednesday; when the Galway Plate is held, and Thursday, when the Galway Hurdle and Ladies' Day take place.

But on this racecourse, you can also watch other horse races that are held throughout the year, especially in September and October with the September Race Meeting and the October Race Meeting.

Accessibility:

Disabled Parking:

There are disabled parking facilities available at Entrance B (please follow Blue/Green Traffic Route) and Entrance C (Red Traffic Route). These disabled parking facilities are subject to capacity on the raceday and provide easier accessibility to the racecouse entrances.

There are also diabled toilet facilities and the entrance of the racecourse has a pass gate in addition to the turnstiles, allowing easier access to wheelchair users and pushchairs. Once inside the racecourse, access to higher levels can be made via lifts.

Medical Facilities:

Doctors, nurses and Order of Malta personnel will be in attendance throughout the Races and are happy to help assist with any medical needs. They may be found in the First Aid Room beside Entrance B.

Opening times:

This year's summer festival will take place from Monday, 27th of July until Sunday, 2nd of August.
