Itinerary:

Day 1-2: fly overnight to Hnaoi.

Day 3: Spend the day aboard a traditionally-designed junk boat cruising amongst spectacular seascapes, fringed by jagged karst formations jutting from emerald waters. Halong Bay, with its 1,600 islands and islets, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994 and is a vision of awe-inspiring beauty. Spend an overnight on board.

Day 4: Spend a relaxing morning sailing through the bay before disembarking and returning to Hanoi. The rest of the day is at leisure until you are treated to a traditional water puppet show in the evening.

Day 5: Hanoi brings together all of the charms of a colonial past with a modern buzz in one fast-paced yet graceful city. Exuding a wonderfully exotic aura, Hanoi is the perfect combination of old Asia and new. Sightseeing today includes a wander through the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, where you'll pass Ho Chi Minh's monumental mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh's Stilt House. Also visit One Pillar Pagoda and the Temple of Literature before walking through the Old Quarter's atmospheric tangle of streets. Transfer to the airport and fly to Danang. On arrival transfer to UNESCO-listed Hoi An.

Day 6: Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An and visit one of the oldest homes, still occupied by descendants of merchants that built it over 200 years ago. Also visit the Japanese Bridge, Hoi An Market and a local Chinese Pagoda. The afternoon enjoy a cooking class and learn local recipes.

Day 7: Fly to bustling Saigon. Situated on the banks of the Saigon river and also known as Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon is Vietnam's largest and busiest city. Sightseeing today includes a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral, Central Post office, reunification Palace and the War remnants Museum. End your tour at lively Ben Thanh Market.

Day 8: Travel to Ben Tre and cruise on the Mekong River to explore the delta, the Rice Basket of Vietnam. The areas rich and fertile lands are perfect for growing rice, coconuts, vegetables and tropical fruits. Enjoy the scenery as we travel through palm-lined canals on wooden sampans passing stilt houses and fish farms before returning to Saigon.

Day 9: Explore the amazing network of Cu Chi Tunnels used by the Viet Cong before returning to Saigon for your flight home, arriving home the following day.
