The coastal town of Oistins is an area located in the southern portion of the parish of Christ Church. Oistins is also home to the former Christ church hospital. The offshore is provided for ships delivering fossil fuels to the island. The name Oistins is known from the annals of Irish and Scottish history. There is a tradition in Oistins for tourists to join in with locals at the Friday night fish fry and “lime” social gathering.
