The Blue Train

A dream emerged as the 19th Century gave way to the beginning of the new age. A vision of using steam technology to connect Africa's enormous south and north, navigating the continent's breathtaking mountain ranges, seemingly dry deserts, and untamed savannah grasslands rich with wildlife. All of this on parallel tempered steel lines, from the Cape to Cairo.

The Blue Train was inspired by this dream. Cairo was never going to happen, but the dreamers persisted, and today South Africa and its breathtaking scenery are traversed by The Blue Train in a way that is appropriate for the aura that has developed around it.

This beautiful, mobile five-star "hotel-on-wheels" has hosted kings and presidents. from honeymooners in love to adored celebrities. And even regular people who daydream about living a life of extravagant luxury that has always seemed tantalisingly out of reach. Till now...
